Being an agricultural country, Philippines is heavily depending on farm product specifically rice, the country's staple food. It is good to konw that the government has invested some some in the "Rice Mechanization" program. As a background, as early as the colonial years of the the Spanish era. Our ancestors have been using the crude method, that is, using the carabao and the plow. This method will be a thing of the past. The carabao is a beast of burden, then they can use in light works such as hauling farm products. The plow can be kept as a museum piece. What's the alternative? We have the technology from Kubota. The L3608 4 Wheel Drive Tractor with the KRL 160 Rotavator as the implement.

The L3608 Tractor is designed for muddy field, hence float slightly and can be mannuevered quickly. The engine torque is just enough to "rotavate" the field. The KRL implement is a Rotavator or a rotary cultivator. The blade is just enough to "dig" the soil. Gone are the days that farmers plow the field as deep as their knees. Palay roots will protrude only 10-15 cm, so why do they need to plow that deep?

These new tractor-rotavator set is fast. A farmer can finish a hectare for 1 day, a breakthrough in the Philippines.

Time will come that we will look at the Filipino farmers differently when farm mechanization is in effect nationwide.

Too bad, plastic garbage spoiled our farm. Filipinos must take proper garbage disposal seriously.
